SEMARANG – Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines) received a visit from the Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) delegation on Tuesday (28/7/2026) at the Polines Campus Directorate Building. This visit is a momentum to strengthen relations between institutions while exploring various opportunities for strategic cooperation in the fields of education, research and human resource development.

The UTHM delegation was led by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Muhammad Fikri bin Hasmori and Ts. Dr. Ahmad Fateh bin Mohamad Nor. The group's arrival was welcomed directly by the Director of the Semarang State Polytechnic, Dr. Garup Lambang Goro, S.T., M.T., accompanied by Dr. Ir. Kurnianingsih, S.T., M.T., Deputy Director for Cooperation, Public Relations and Information Systems, along with the Polines leadership.

During the meeting, the two institutions introduced each other's university profiles, departments and superior study programs. The discussion was warm, discussing various collaboration opportunities that could be realized in the future.

Some of the cooperation plans that are the focus of discussion include student exchange programs, development of master's and doctoral (Ph.D.) programs, research collaborations, scientific publications, as well as various international academic programs that can increase the competence of students and lecturers from both institutions.

Polines Director, Dr. Garup Lambang Goro, S.T., M.T., said that strengthening international networks is part of Polines' commitment to improving the quality of vocational education that is globally competitive.

"We welcome the visit from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia. We hope that this meeting will be the first step in realizing various collaborative programs that will provide benefits for both institutions, especially in developing vocational education, student mobility, as well as increasing the capacity of lecturers and researchers," he said.

Meanwhile, Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Muhammad Fikri bin Hasmori expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome given by Polines. He hopes that the communication and synergy that has been established can be followed up through collaborative programs that will have a positive impact on the academic community of both universities.

The activity closed with the handing over of souvenirs as a symbol of friendship and commitment to strengthening institutional relations between Polines and UTHM, which was then continued with a photo session with all participants.

Through this visit, Semarang State Polytechnic continues to expand its international network as part of its efforts to support superior, innovative and impactful vocational education, as well as opening up more opportunities for students and lecturers to collaborate at the global level. ang
