With 5 departments and 27 available study programs, Polines continues to innovate with industry-based curricula, supported by modern facilities and partnerships with over 500 national and international industry partners.

Polines Historical Journey
Over 4 decades of achievements in vocational education
Initiation & Establishment
Founded as one of six new polytechnics in Indonesia with World Bank assistance. Legal basis: SK Ditjen Dikti No. 03/Dj/Kep/1979. Established alongside polytechnics in Medan, Palembang, Jakarta, Bandung, and Malang.
First Operations
First intake of students. Still using the name Politeknik Universitas Diponegoro. Opened initial 3 departments: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.
Academic Development
Opened new department: Business Administration. Development of Electrical Engineering into two specializations: Electrical and Electronics/Telecommunications Engineering.
Program Restructuring
Reorganization of departments and study programs based on Ministerial Decree No. 313/O/1991. Implemented in 1992 with five main departments: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Accounting, and Business Administration.
Transformation to Polines
Status changed to an independent work unit separate from Undip. Officially renamed Politeknik Negeri Semarang (Polines). Legal basis: SK Mendikbud No. 175/O/1997 dated 6 August 1997.
New Era
Establishment and update of Polines Statute (1998, 2008, 2016). Organization and Work Procedure (OTK) regulated by various ministerial and director decisions (2002, 2014, 2015). Consolidation of institutional legal foundation in effect today.
